Finally...Face to Face

"Finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day..." 2 Tim 4:6
"For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then Face to Face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." Cor. 13:12
I asked The Lord to help me have a painting done of Jeffrey and Jesus on Jeffrey's first day in Heaven. My sweet niece Callie, commissioned a friend from college to paint "Finally...Face to Face" Truly a Priceless treasure. Thank you Callie and Daniel.
A little about Daniel, The artist of "Finally...Face to Face."
My name is Daniel Bishikwabo and I’m 27.
I’m from the Democratic Republic of the Congo where my dad is a missionary pastor in rural areas, and my mom a tailor. I came to the US, to Moscow, ID to attend New Saint Andrews College in 2014.
Growing up I enjoyed drawing like most kids do. When I was about fifteen, my dad connected me with a professional artist who had just looked at a drawing of a church building that I heard drawn for my dad. This artist became interested in mentoring me by showing me how to use paint and brush on canvas instead of just pencils on paper. He, along with other artists in his studio inspired me by the vivacity of their paintings. Ever since, my love for paining has grown bigger and this talent has been improving every year.
I enjoy painting realistically, and portraits are my favorite subjects. Mostly I would paint from photos in which I find vibrant faces. But painting Jeffrey was, for me, more than how he appears in photos. Throughout the process I kept telling myself- what an honor to paint someone who went to be with The Lord. If only I could get his smile right!
